Opening night on Broadway is getting to be old hat for actor Daniel Radcliffe, however this time, he added the challenge of song and dance to his live performance.

The Harry Potter actor took to the stage for the revival of  How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Sunday, March 27th.

Playing J. Pierrepont Finch from the 1961 musical comedy, Radcliffe is charming critics and the audience with his turn as the always-in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time kinda guy.

The 21 year-old has taken on theater before. He was very well received both in London and in New York City for his role in the psychological drama Equus.

Daniel Radcliffe lands on the cover of Out magazine. The Harry Potter actor is truly committed to his work with The Trevor Project and talks with Out about his passion for the organization:

“When I got to have a tour of the New York [Trevor Project] call center, my admiration for the project, but also for the place and the people, tripled. The systems they have in place, the actual way the call center works on a practical level, is so brilliant and efficient. It’s something I’m very proud to be able to be involved with.”

Radcliffe is heading back to New York City for the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying but there is something Daniel says he has to try for success at: dating!

“I was in a relationship with somebody for just about three years, and we broke up just shortly before we hit that mark. But [the breakup] was very amicable. At the moment, I’m just being single and running around chasing girls. (Laughs) I’m not getting too many responses, but, yes, I’m having a go. I’m also starting to go on dates for the first time. I’ve never really done it because all my girlfriends that I’ve ever met, I’ve met through work. So we got to know each other really well at work and then kind of ended up going out.”

He has a great attitude and is so open I’m sure he’ll have quite a few girls chasing him now that everyone knows he’s single.

Vanessa Hudgens and her Beastly costar Neil Patrick Harris are bringing the amazing musical Rent to the Hollywood Bowl for three nights starting August 6th. Entertainment Weekly posted the rehearsal pic of the duo as they prep for the show next weekend.

The musical is great and I hope Vanessa and Neil do it justice.

Justin Bieber was at the Citadel Outlet Mall in southern California on December 14th and gave a riot-free performance for the waiting teen girl crowd. The concert started about 45 minutes late because the organizers were trying to insure the safety of those there. Thankfully, no serious injuries.

After his successful turn on Broadway in the play Equus, Daniel Radcliffe may make a return to live theater. This time the actor is the first cast member tapped for a reading of the 1961 musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The December reading, if it’s well received, may turn into a full-fledged Great White Way show. Now that would be interesting – a musical with Radcliffe as the star.

Zac Efron is currently hard at work filming ‘The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud’ but his latest film, ‘Me and Orson Welles’ is getting ready for release later this year. The film, directed by Richard Linklater (‘School of Rock’ and ‘Dazed and Confused’) and co-starring Claire Danes, finds Efron playing a struggling young actor who is befriended and used by the great Orson Welles and learns the hard way how cutthroat the backstage world of show business can be. ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson has a busy year ahead of him. With the vampire sequel ‘New Moon’ scheduled to start filming and his latest movie ‘Little Ashes’  both happening in March 2009 and an (as yet) uncomfirmed role in ‘Ohio,’  the in demand actor may be headed to London’s West End theater district. David Pugh, the producer who brought Daniel Radcliffe to the live stage in the revival of Equus, has confirmed to Variety that he will be developing something with Pattinson for the year 2010. It is the perfect time for him to expand his acting career to theater if he wants.
