Taylor Swift & Jake Gyllenhaal “In Love” – US Weekly Cover

Written by Violet on December 1, 2010 – 10:36 pm -

The cover of US Weekly is cute with Taylor Swift’s arm wrapped around Jake Gyllenhaal as the pair laugh and stroll down some ubiquitous street with a coffee in hand. It’s sweet, they’re adorable, the latte is fresh…

The mag proclaims:

“From secret dates to private weekends with the parents – after just five weeks. Inside their sudden romance.”

Taylor and Jake are really very cute together. It’s hard to deny. Swift in particular has has bad luck in the boyfriend/girlfriend department. They were short dalliances but (apparently) filled with bad break-up stories that ended in song. Her famous exes: Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and John Mayer (in the case of Mayer, an uncomfirmed ex.) Jake’s famous exes: Kirsten Dunst and Reese Witherspoon.

Swift, 20 and Gyllenhaal, 29 have been spotted on a few dates and while the two will not answer any questions regarding their relationship it is clear that they are enjoying their time together.

Fellow seniors Mei (Yin Chang) and Tyler (De’Vaughn Nixon) harbor secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events. There are hundreds of nights in high school, but there’s only one “Prom.” Featuring an emerging ensemble cast and a powerful soundtrack.

Red Riding Hood Ready: Amanda Seyfried

Written by Violet on April 30, 2010 – 10:54 pm -

Actress Amanda Seyfried is set to take on the lead role in The Girl with the Red Riding Hood. The film will be directed by the original Twilight helmer, Catherine Hardwicke and Seyfried feels she’s in great hands:

“I’m always kind of careful about what I choose,” Amanda said. “I had known [Catherine] kind of a little bit before, when I was dating Emile Hirsch [who worked with Catherine on 'Lords of Dogtown'], and I had been to her house before. That was years ago. And when I had met with her again, she talked about this movie. I completely fell in love with her idea and trusted her form that moment on, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m down.’ “

Hardwicke is putting together another amazing cast: Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons and (hopefully) Gary Oldman and Julie Christie. Just don’t expect this gothic update of the classic fairytale to be twilight-ish. Hardwicke says no way to the imitation.

I love how this is coming together. Seyfried seems great for this role and if you add Oldman – you can’t lose.

Hilary Duff Writing Teen Novels

Written by Violet on March 10, 2010 – 7:34 pm -

Hilary Duff, best known as the squeaky clean Disney teen Lizzie McGuire, is branching out – into teen writing. The actress is set to pen a series of young adult novels, starting with Elixir; due in October of 2010. The novels have photojournalist Clea Raymond as the heroine who uncovers mystery, danger and romance while globe trotting.

Says Duff, “I’ve always loved the escape of a great book, especially one that features a strong, inspiring female character you feel you really understand, someone who could be you, but living a more fascinating life. I’m hoping Elixir will be that kind of book-a novel that will transport readers and open new worlds for them.”

Duff is working on a non-fiction tome too. Stories from children of divorced parents and the obstacles they overcome will be the focus of her other work, to be published in 2012.

Robert Pattinson: ‘New Moon’ Storyline Is Not Just For Girls

Written by Violet on December 4, 2009 – 10:09 pm -

The Twilight Saga’s second film, New Moon, has been promoted as having more action and fighting than the first, giving it more appeal to guys. Actor Robert Pattinson feels it shouldn’t matter – a good storyline is something that both sexes should find watchable.

“I keep being told by people that I need to pump up all the stuff about the action and all this stuff for the guys to go and see it,” Pattinson says. “It’s ridiculous. It’s like saying guys can’t appreciate romance. I don’t think that you can say that about GONE WITH THE WIND or something. I’ve watched TITANIC and I didn’t think, ‘Oh, this is a girl’s film.’ Unless you’re a complete idiot of a guy, I don’t really think … and especially in NEW MOON and in the whole series I’ve never played it as if I’m playing a series of girl’s films, doing something just for girls.”

For the guys out there who have seen NM – what did you think? Did you go because you wanted to check it out?

Playing one of the most popular romantic leads in a movie, Pattinson is giving less interviews and being a bit more careful with what he says. This two part interview appears to be a compilation of quotes. Check it out here.
