Wizards of Waverly Place star and nominee Selena Gomez glided down the red carpet to the 41st NAACP Image Awards at the Shrine Auditorium on Friday February 26th. The Kiss and Tell singer was elegant in her creamy/ivory colored dress. Gomez however, did not take a trophy home, Keke Palmer did. Check out pics of Palmer here.

Bonnie Wright hit the London Fashion Week Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2010 on February 23rd. The Harry Potter actress attended the Women’s Wear runway show with her boyfriend, Jamie Campbell-Bower. The twosome were also spotted earlier in the week at the BAFTA awards.

Kristen Stewart is Elle UK Magazine’s 2010 Woman of the Year and the nineteen year old actress is having a truly phenomenal time. After winning the Orange Rising Star award at the BAFTA’s on Sunday (see her speech here,) her latest films The Yellow Handkerchief and The Runaways hitting theaters, The Twilight Saga: New Moon out on DVD in March and Eclipse releasing in June, Stewart in unstoppable. Emma Watson’s clothing collaboration with People Tree UK is due next month and this early review of the fashion line is very positive. The ethically and environmentally sensitive wearables not only encompass her principles, they are stylish and comfortable as well.

[...]there are cropped tracksuit pants, little sailor-stripe T-shirt dresses, cricket jumpers and hoodies, polo-tops and plaid shirts for the boys. As Watson herself admits, at present her competition is minimal. “I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.”

I have been following Emma and People Tree’s collection development for a while now - hoping it was as good as it sounded. Lots of designers try to use sustainable or natural fibers and fabrics for some of their lines and some manage to positively contribute to impoverished workers’ futures, but very few do both. This has great potential to set the benchmark for other designers and firms to get both aspects working together and still make great fashion.

The line will be available on People Tree’s UK website in February. If you believe in it and like it - support it!

Rihanna is fierce and sexy for the February cover of W magazine. The Bahamian born singer is focusing on her music, the release of her 4th studio album, Rated R, and less on the domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of her then boyfriend Chris Brown. Writing the lyrics to songs for this album, she used her trauma of the past year to write her most personal songs ever.

“When I first worked with her, on her second album, she was very—I don’t want to say obedient, because it sounds like you’re describing a dog—but she would take my suggestions without question,” says Ne-Yo. “She trusted me, which was cool, but I told her that I ultimately wanted to get to a point where she would give me input, where she’d be a collaborator and not a puppet. And now I think we’ve gotten there. She’s showing parts of herself that she didn’t show before because she didn’t want to scare anyone off. She’s experienced some pain now, and it’s helped her grow to a point where she’s able to explore it.”

Rihanna must be happy to put 2009 behind her and her cover shot shows a confident young woman ready to look forward. More Rihanna!

Anna Kendrick looked lovely at the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards in New York City. The Up In The Air star took home the prize for Best Supporting Actress.

Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman released his fashion guide You Know You Want It: Style - Inspiriation - Confidence on December 15, 2009. On Tuesday January 12, 2010 he gathered his GG guys and gals for a launch party celebrating the success of the book. Jessica Szohr, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Blake Lively and Michelle Trachtenberg were among those who turned out.

Rihanna, who works couture fashion like no other, is contemplating a more hands on fashionable future; possible designer. The Rated R songbird is open to possibilities and fashion is just one front.

“I’ve taken some acting lessons so hopefully one day I will have time to do something like that. There is so much I want to do, something in fashion as well. I just want to keep getting better.”

Rihanna turned heads at the Paris Spring/Summer 2010 runway shows this past October.

A clothing line launched by Rihanna would be fantastic.

The Spring/Summer 2010 fashion collections are showing in Paris this week and Rihanna has been causing a stir everytime she shows up. The fashion forward ‘Umbrella’ singer has been to all the major shows - Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gautlier, and Martin Margiela. She has her newly blond streaked hair, been wearing all black and has even been photographed in a see-thru dress (pic below.) What do you think of Rihanna’s style?
