The Jonas Brothers have teamed up with Allstate Insurance to remind you not to text while driving. The informational campaign ‘Xthe Txt’ is a fun way to reinforce the message that distracted driving is a terrible danger to teens and young adults and many people are injured and killed each year because of it. Nick, Joe and Kevin advise having a designated texter (DSGN8D TXTR) to handle messages instead of the one behind the wheel.

Jessica Aney made her way down the red carpet at the 2010 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year celebration held at the IAC Building in New York City. The 12 year-old was named the 2010 SI SportsKid of the Year by the magazine.

Aney is a nationally ranked tennis player and plays ice hockey in Rochester, Minnesota. As a tennis player she plays on her high school varsity team, helped her elite hockey team to victory and is a top notch student who makes an effort to help out her community as often as she can.

“Jessica is everything we look for in a SportsKid of the Year,” said SI KIDS Managing Editor Bob Der. “She is a hard working, well-rounded student athlete and we are so excited to be able to call her our 2010 SPORTSKID OF THE YEAR.”

The Vampire Diaries went out with a bang this season. Fingers and superpowered rings went flying, more burning vampires, the sad end of Anna (Malese Jow) and that kiss between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and (Nina Dobrev’s) Elena, err Katherine… How does the show top all of that for season 2?

Executive producer Julie Plec gives up some serious sophmore year scoopage: Elena and Katherine (related? check!) Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Matt (Zach Roerig) forge a friendship and the werewolves are coming! the werewolves are coming!

Plec says writer Kevin Williamson is working on getting all our favorite characters more involved in the overall mythology of the show: Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) and Jeremy (Steven R McQueen) will get more screen time – Yes!

I want to know – is there a Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Damon romance in this season? I can wait for season 3, if I must, but I am totally on Team Bamon.

Spending a sunny afternoon in Malibu playing flag football, actor and singer Jesse McCartney had a great time tossing the ball with other celebrities and pro athletes. The Madden NFL 10 Pigskin Pro-Am on Xbox 360 Football event was held and taped on Friday in California. Former NFL players faced off with celebs like McCartney, Kelli Rowland and Jeremy Piven. The game will be shown at multiple days and times leading up to the August 14th release of Madden NFL 10. Look for the fun on VH1, ESPN2, Spike and the NFL Channel.
