Ashley Tisdale’s cheerleader drama Hellcats is getting a new night when it returns from the winter break. Tisdale, who is shown above doing some holiday shopping last week, and the show return to the CW on Tuesday January 25th at 9PM.

The move is strategic, keeping the freshman show out of direct competition with the FOX hit show American Idol, that will be on Wednesday and Thursday.

No new episodes of The Vampire Diaries until January 2011! It’s awful!

To help fans with their withdrawl, The CW is running a marathon this week – Monday, December 13th thru Friday, December 17th. The first 10 episodes of season 2 starting with “The Return” and the shocking moment Damon (Ian Somerhalder) breaks Jeremy’s (Steven R McQueen) neck are shown in order.

TVD won’t return until January 27, 2011 with episode 12 “The Descent,” See that preview video under.

AJ Michalka caught the premiere of Somewhere, the Sophia Coppola directed drama, at the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood on Tuesday (December 7th.) AJ just got back from Vancouver where she has begun filming her guest spot on sister Aly Michalka’s CW TV show Hellcats.

Somewhere costars Elle Fanning, who will be working with Michalka in the JJ Abrams sci-fi thriller Super 8 set to film next year.

Finally! The Vampire Diaries is back tonight and brand new. Episode 2.10 “The Sacrifice” and next week’s “By The Light Of The Moon” focus a bit more on the werewolf transformation that Tyler endures.

JEREMY MAKES A DANGEROUS MISTAKE — Elena (Nina Dobrev) decides to take matters into her own hands and offers a tempting incentive to Rose (guest star Lauren Cohan) for her help.  When things take an unexpected turn, however, Rose calls on Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to deal with the plan Elena has set in motion.  Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) reckless attempt to help Bonnie (Katerina Graham) retrieve the moonstone lands him in a life-threatening position and forces Stefan (Paul Wesley) to put himself in danger.  Bonnie and Luka (guest star Bryton James) form a closer connection.  Tyler (Michael Trevino) shows Caroline (Candice Accola) the Lockwood cellar, where she makes a discovery that leaves them both terrified.  Sara Canning, Zach Roerig and Matt Davis also star.

Round em’ up cause Hellcats is going cowgirl tonight! In episode 1.11 “Think Twice Before You Go” the team performs in short shorts and plaid shirts tied off to show their perfect abs! Awesome! Here is the CW‘s official synopsis:

MARTI DECIDES TO COME CLEAN WITH SAVANNAH ABOUT DAN — After the incident in the car, Dan (Matt Barr) issues Marti (Aly Michalka) an ultimatum – either admit she has feelings for him or their friendship is over.  Marti drags a depressed Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) to a BBQ to help lift her spirits.  Savannah drinks a little too much and decides to flirt with the DJ, which puts her in a compromising position later that night.  Marti decides to tell Savannah the truth about what happened between her and Dan.  Gail O’Grady, Sharon Leal, Robbie Jones and Heather Hemmens also star.

AJ Michalka is headed to the world of competitive cheerleading and Hellcats in 2011. The sister of star Aly Michalka, AJ is getting a recurring role as an employee at a record store which is conveniently located near Lancer University.

The sisters have already collaborated on the show (the theme song is performed by them as 78violet) and it is likely they will perform musically together in a future episode.

In one season on The Vampire Diairies, Candice Accola’s Caroline has gone from human midnight snack for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to a powerful, slightly neurotic vampire forging a friendship (and possible romance) with werewolf in waiting Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino). Accola sees the two forming a sort of alliance that is becoming so strong, all things are possible between the two supernatural characters:

There are hints that Tyler and Caroline’s friendship is something more. Are we going to see them develop a romance?
A lot of great romances can grow from friendship. Of course, there’s definitely a possibility of that. Whether or not that’s going to happen, I don’t know. We’re not that much farther ahead of the audience. So I really don’t know. I know that … Caroline’s the only one that knows what Tyler’s been going through, so that friendship isn’t just going to go away. There’s something there. Whether that turns into a romantic relationship or whether it turns into a really beautiful support system for one another, who knows. The fans will just have to stay tuned and watch.

Romance or friendship-wise, do you think they’re doomed in a way since vampires and werewolves are historically enemies?
It’s definitely got a Romeo and Juliet quality to it, the idea of them becoming romantic. Who knows? That didn’t end very well with Romeo and Juliet. [Laughs] Hopefully, it wouldn’t be that same result for Caroline and Tyler. I don’t know. Really, right now, the most prominent thing going on between both of them is finding a safe place for Tyler to transform. It’s really about his transformation right now. It’s not about anything else, which I think is such a wonderful thing because, for Caroline, any involvement with a member of the opposite sex was immediately sexual throughout the first season. It was immediately like crush-worthy. It wasn’t just like a friendship. I think it’s just a lovely way of showing that she as a character has grown within the second season. It’s more than just about a boy I immediately have to have a crush on. It’s a friendship. It’s something a little bit more substantial.

So what is in store for Caroline & Tyler? The last two shows of 2010 on December 2nd and 9th deal with the werewolves and Tyler’s transformation so there should be lots of scenes together. Should we call them Cyler or Taroline or Fockwood? Either way – I like the Romeo and Juliet aspect of these two characters.

Accola has truly been a wonderful surprise in the second season of TVD – and for a show that is consistently raising the bar every week with twists and shockers – that is saying something.

Taylor Momsen is back in tonight’s new Gossip Girl. Episode 4.10 “Gaslit” is the last episode Jenny will be in through January. Last week it was reported that Momsen has been sidelined by the show for a while. There are conflicting reports as to why – was she that much of a pain to the show or was it just because her storyline dictates her absence – but none the less, this is it for Jenny Humphrey through the January episodes at least.

Here is tonight’s official synopsis:

TATE DONOVAN DIRECTS THE EPISODE: Chuck (Ed Westwick), Serena (Blake Lively), Blair (Leighton Meester), Dan (Penn Badgley), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Eric (Connor Paolo) find themselves faced with a crisis when a member of one of their families is hospitalized.  Meanwhile, Nate (Chace Crawford) attempts to help his parents, The Captain (guest star Sam Robards) and Anne (guest star Francie Swift), put their complicated past behind them and reconcile.  Katie Cassidy guest stars as Juliet.  Jessica Szohr, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.

The soundtrack for the CW cheerleader drama Hellcats comes out on Tuesday November 30th and features the theme song by 78Violet: sisters Aly and AJ Michalka. The duo recorded the shows opener “Belong Here” and it’s the lead track on CD featuring co star Sharon Leal, a solo from Aly and Brokedown Cadillac. Here is the CD listing:

Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka‘s series Hellcats heats up tonight as Alice (Heather Hemmens) is looking for revenge. Episode 1.10 “Pledging My Love” airs Wednesday (tonight) November 17th at 9pm on The CW. Tonight’s summary:

DEBBIE ALLEN DIRECTS — A compromising picture of Alice (Heather Hemmens) is sent around school, humiliating her. Lewis (Robbie Jones) feels bad for Alice and agrees to help her find the culprit. The two discover Damian (guest star Josh Emerson), a football player, is the culprit and she vows revenge and plans to out him after she finds out he is gay. Red (Jeff Hephner) and Vanessa (Sharon Leal) hear of her plan and set out to stop her before she does something she will regret.
