Leighton Meester flashed some serious silver on the red carpet of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles.

The Gossip Girl star opted for a Balmain dress that was heavy on the metal embellishments with every inch covered by anything you can think of – beads, mirrors, crystals and all sorts of studs. I love this on her. She looks incredible.

Unfortunately, as great as she looked, it didn’t translate into a Golden Popcorn win for the 25 year-old. Meester was up for Best Villain for her role in The Roommate but perpetual favorite, Tom Felton took the prize for his role as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter.

She did get to present with her Monte Carlo costars. Meester, Katie Cassidy and Selena Gomez introduced Lupe Fiasco to the crowd that evening.

Who you get stuck with at college for a roommate gets a creepy spin in The Roommate.

Leighton Meester is Rebecca, the unbalanced new roomie Minka Kelly’s Sarah gets to share her living space with. The two start off friendly but Rebecca takes it to Single White Female level and begins to try eliminate Sarah’s other friends played by Aly Michalka and Cam Gigandet.

The Roommate also stars Katerina Graham, Frances Fisher and Matt Lanter and opens February 4th.

Actress Leighton Meester, who is rumored to be romancing her “Country Strong” co-star Garret Hedlund, looked absolutely stunning in a classic and elegant Michael Kors long black dress at the premiere of her latest movie “The Roommate” held at Soho House in West Hollywood, California on Sunday (January 23)- more pictures below.

The 24 year-old, who plays the crazy obsessed roommate Rebecca, and her co-star, actress Minka Kelly, have become really good friends, but unlike the movie they have a very healthy relationship.

Leighton tweeted, “#TheRoommate premiere tonight with @minkakelly! Ecstatic to be with my girl! Kindred spirits.” And Minka responded, “Had the best time last night at #TheRoommate premiere! Thank you @itsmeleighton for such a great experience. Ur a true talent n class act!”

“The Roommate” hits theaters on February 4, 2011.

Leighton Meester was in Los Angeles for the screening of her latest movie, Country Strong. The actress hit the red carpet in a floraly flirty summery frilly Christian Dior dress with orange platforms. She really looked cute but it seemed a little out of place considering it’s winter.

Minka Kelly, her costar in the upcoming film The Roommate, was on hand to support Leighton and the actress was a dead ringer for Meester at a glance.

She’s one of the most fashionable young actresses so it makes sense for Leighton Meester to consider designing her own line of clothing and accessories.

“The more I think about it the more it sounds like something I would want to do,” she tells us. “I don’t know if it’d be any time soon but I’d really like to work on a collaboration with somebody – I always have ideas for stuff like that. The problem is I always have so much admiration for so many designers and for so many different styles, it’d difficult to hone in on just one look but why not?”

Counting Audrey Hepburn, Helen Mirren and Cate Blanchett as women whose style sense she admires, Meester looks at each for inspiration.

The Gossip Girl actress has a number of films coming out next year: Country Strong with Gwyneth Paltrow, The Oranges with Hugh Laurie, The Roommate with Minka Kelly and Monte Carlo with Selena Gomez so she will have to squeeze in a fashion collaboration but she would have a great point of view to work from.

Creepily obsessed and all out psycho, actress Leighton Meester is giving the audience one scary moment after the other in the first trailer for her movie The Roommate. Cast as crazy Rebecca who ends up rooming with clueless Sara (Minka Kelly) Meester just loses it and rips out a belly button ring (Aly Michalka’s) sets a guy on fire and is just plain Single White Female nutso. A rosy pink dress and a cheery smile accompany Leighton Meester on the cover of Cosmo UK September 2010 issue. The Gossip Girl actress gives up the details of her life compared to her GG character Blair Waldorf:

• On playing a mean character: “I am living my dream and having the time of my life! I’m lucky because I get to do that all day long and play a character who has a lot of noble qualities as well. I am really lucky she is such a well-written character.”
• On whether people expect she will be like Blair in real life: “Most people just run away, so perhaps that’s what they’re thinking! I think for the most part people understand that it’s just a character.”
• On whether her high school experience was similar to Gossip Girl: “The complete opposite, to be honest. I had lived in NYC before but not in the Upper East Side – it was in the Upper West Side, which was very different. When I was a teenager I was in a public high school. I certainly was not popular by any means, and I didn’t have a car or a lot of money, so it was very different.”

Leighton is hard at work in New York on Gossip Girl and she has lots of movies due out next year (see the full list here.)

Australian magazine Girlfriend also gets the Meester touch this month. So much Meester magazine love, so little time.

Australian magazine Girlfriend nabbed Leighton Meester for the cover of the August 2010 edition.  For the issue, Meester gave the mag some of her personal philosophies on how to be your happiest:

Be Natural: “I never wear make-up when I’m not at work. It can make you forget what you look like, and I’ve grown to really love the way I look without it.”

Have Priorities: “I’ve never been crazy. I’m a very good girl, to be honest. I don’t do anything to hurt anyone. Honestly, all I ever do is work. ”

Resist the Pressure: “I am this way and that’s it. I’ve never been under pressure to lose weight – if I want to eat chocolate, I will.”

She’s certainly right about her work ethic. The actress, who just wrapped filming the movie Monte Carlo with Selena Gomez and Cory Monteith, is currently working in New York on the new season of her hit TV show Gossip Girl. She has a ton of big screen projects for release next year, including The Roommate with Cam Gigandet (my personal fave ex-vampire) and The Oranges with Hugh Laurie.

Bandslam’s Aly Michalka is joining the brand new show Hellcats that will air this fall on the CW. The 78violet singer is joining Gail O’Grady (Desperate Housewives, NYPD Blue) in the drama.

A drama set in the world of competitive college cheerleading. The former [Michalka] will play Marty Berger (“wicked smart, an acerbic outsider”), a student at Memphis’ Lancer University who’s forced to try out for the Hellcats – the college’s competitive cheerleading team – after she loses her scholarship. O’Grady will play her mother Wanda who tends bar at a rathskeller type snack bar on campus that serves food and drinks.

Aly’s also part of the 2011 movie ensemble cast for The Roommate, staring Leighton Meester, Cam Gigandet and Katerina Graham.

The Vampire Diaries on CW is so hot and so is Katerina Graham who attended Damiani Diamond & The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Power 100 Women in Entertainment Cocktail Party.’

Graham is also costarring with Leighton Meester and Cam Gigandet in The Roommate due out in September of 2010.

While TVD is on hiatus and no new episodes until January 2010 (boo hiss boo!), enjoy the pics of Graham working her style for the event.
