Sweet sixteen it is for Dakota Fanning today, February 23rd. The star of the upcoming film The Runaways, celebrated over the weekend with a dinner in Beverly Hills. Happy Birthday to Dakota!

The Twilight Saga and Up In The Air actress Anna Kendrick will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday January 8th. Here is a little teaser clip of the upcoming interview. Kendrick is a lucky girl working with cute and funny guys like George Clooney and Robert Pattinson.

Logan Lerman, who plays the title role in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief is set to take on mythological creatures big and small in the upcoming movie. As Percy, he is beset by troubles every year at school until he learns why - he is a half-blood hero, son of Poseidon, one of the gods of Mount Olympus. Being set up as a thief of Zeus’ powerful lightning bolt, Percy and his friends Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) and Annabeth, (Alexandra Daddario) travel across the country to clear his name and avoid a war between the Greek gods. Unfortunately for them, monsters line up to try and thwart his quest. This movie featurette gives us a glimpse at some of the battles Percy and The Gang will face.

The books by Rick Riordan are great! The movie looks fantastic. Chris Columbus is directing (Harry Potter 1 and 2) and has Pierce Brosnan as the centaur, Chiron and Uma Thurman as Medusa. I can’t wait to check it February 12, 2010.

Amy Kuney is a very talented singer. She has covered lots of artist’s songs and this time she takes ‘Obsessed’ by Miley Cyrus and gives it a Robsessed spin.

“I know I’m not the only person to be unhealthily obsessed with Robert Pattinson who plays Edward, lead vampire, in the bloody drama Twilight: New Moon, so I decided to take my unhealthy, unbalanced obsession to a whole new creepy level by doing a parody of Twilight and covering ‘Obsessed’ by Miley Cyrus. Haha, ‘Robsessed’.. I’m definitely on Team Edward. I’m stoked to see New Moon coming out Nov. 20th! I’ll see you there, popcorn in hand ~amy ps. this is a partial dramatization- I’m really not this creepy..”

After his successful turn on Broadway in the play Equus, Daniel Radcliffe may make a return to live theater. This time the actor is the first cast member tapped for a reading of the 1961 musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The December reading, if it’s well received, may turn into a full-fledged Great White Way show. Now that would be interesting - a musical with Radcliffe as the star.

A pairing made in Hollywood heaven if it actually happens - Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron are being talked about to be in the updated version of the classic beach film series ‘Gidget.’

Said flick is envisioned to be the first in a long-line of “Gidget” movies. The musical-comedy will feature popstress Cyrus in the titular role, that of a young girl who discovers surfing and love (in that order) during one transitive summer. Efron is, we suspect, being sought to play the love interest.

All this is speculative still and it seems unlikely that Efron would join this because he has turned away from musical movies (‘Footloose.‘) Brittany Snow, Efron’s co-star from ‘Hairspray’ is also part of the equation that execs would like to have happen.

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince opens in theaters on July 15th and the cast is doing lots and lots of interviews to promote the sixth installment of the series. Daniel Radcliffe recently did this interview with the Los Angeles Times and while taking the journalist on a walk thru the magnificent sets in England, he shared some interesting stories about the many talented actors he has been fortunate enough to work with thru the years:

Several generations of the best from British and Irish stage and cinema have passed through the franchise, such as Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon, Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson and the late Richard Harris, and Radcliffe tried to learn something from each of them.

Asked for an example, he points out that Richard Griffiths, who plays Harry’s sour uncle, was raised by deaf parents and, attuned to nonverbal expression, approaches his work with a more internal strategy than most actors. He first learns what his character is thinking in each scene as opposed to what he is saying.

Griffiths also once advised Radcliffe to never let the camera catch him when he wasn’t thinking because the void would be read in his eyes; the veteran prefaced that counsel by saying it was told to him by Lee Marvin, who heard it from Spencer Tracy.

“Just think,” Radcliffe said, “how many young people get access to that sort of advice and that sort of history?”

Gary Oldman is another legendary talent that Radcliffe has been fortunate enough to spend time with and learn from. The duo share a passion for music and Oldman helped Dan become a better bass guitar player. Radcliffe also mentioned some of his favorite bands: The Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines.

I really enjoy watching Daniel as he grows as an actor and look forward to what he will do after HP. It must be a huge challenge for him to walk away from the character that we have all come to know him as, and he identifies with a bit. Radcliffe along with his co-stars, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will be everywhere in the next few weeks as the sixth movie opens and I for one, can’t wait to see more of them.

As soon as she can, Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez wants to call it quits to television series acting and concentrate on movies and college. While she is looking forward to filming WOWP again in August, the Disney star has her sights set on the future and wants to be like actresses who go to college and stay in the industry.

“I’m going to try to pull a Natalie Portman,” Gomez says, keeping her fingers crossed that she’ll get into and graduate from her “dream” school, Northwestern University.

“Natalie went to Harvard while shooting ‘Star Wars,’ ” she says, making it clear she’d like to move on to movies eventually.

“I don’t know how she did it. I want to have lunch with her and ask her - that seems like a bunch of stress right there.”

For now she is focusing on her work and not on the romantic rumours surrounding her. The 16 year old Gomez is thinking of studying drama and journalism in college.

‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson has a busy year ahead of him. With the vampire sequel ‘New Moon’ scheduled to start filming and his latest movie ‘Little Ashes’  both happening in March 2009 and an (as yet) uncomfirmed role in ‘Ohio,’  the in demand actor may be headed to London’s West End theater district. David Pugh, the producer who brought Daniel Radcliffe to the live stage in the revival of Equus, has confirmed to Variety that he will be developing something with Pattinson for the year 2010. It is the perfect time for him to expand his acting career to theater if he wants.
