This is Vanessa Hudgens big year! The 22 year-old actress is really trying hard to make a successful transition from Disney star to an “adult” actress with two new movies, “Beastly” and “Sucker Punch”.

Vanessa recently broke up with her High School Musical boyfriend, Zac Efron, and I’ve got a feeling she will have the opportunity to try some new things. Vanessa is probably a better actress than singer, so she is on the right path.

In an interview for Cineplex Magazine, Vanessa claims “Sucker Punch” is like six movies in one and she loved the experience. As for “Beastly”, the actress finally understood the deeper message behind the modern version of “Beauty & The Beast”.

Here are some highlights from Vanessa Hudgens’ Cineplex interview:

On putting “Sucker Punch” into words: “It’s really interesting and extremely hard to put into words. But it’s basically six movies all put together in one and with different settings, and it takes place in the fifties and it’s super kick-ass. It’s classy, it’s empowering and it’s very moving.”

On Blondie: “She’s kind of a follower in the real world but once we go into the fight sequences she turns into an extreme badass.”

On her thoughts of Beastly: “I did [think it was just a Disney story], until I really looked into it. And it fascinates me that people still have not caught onto [the message]…Now more than ever kids are extremely fascinated with the Hollywood glamour and it’s not how it is, but that’s all that you see.”

The movie directed by Zack Snyder has been described as a sexier version of “Alice In Wonderland” with machine guns. It’s absolutely incredible with a lot of action, so don’t expect a rich script with powerful dialogues.

She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is caught by a vile man. Story is set in 1950′s.
