‘Twilight’ Town Forks, WA Reality TV Possibility

Written by Violet on December 29, 2009 – 11:25 pm -

Forks, Washington is the setting to the very popular fictional series Twilight and now the residents of said Northwestern town may have their own reality show. I just have nothing to say except well, honestly – why? Didn’t the documentary cover whatever we needed to know about a small town with major media issues?

What’s next: MTV’s Real World Forks, WA? UGH! Stop already!

Bella’s Prom Dress Now For Sale

Written by Violet on September 19, 2009 – 10:24 pm -

The blue halter gown that Kristen Stewart wore for Twilight is now for sale at a shop in Port Angeles, Washington. Black Diamond Bridal owner Belva Bodey found an overseas company to recreate the dress from the Bella Swan/Edward Cullen prom scene.

“We wanted to give people the opportunity to dress in something festive which Bella wore,”Bodey said, especially since Bella actually shopped in Port Angeles in the book to pick out her prom dress. “If she had shopped in Port Angeles, she would have bought her dress here.”

The dress is one of four the store owner had made. Check out the store’s info here.

‘Twilight in Forks’ Doc Paired with ‘New Moon’ DVD

Forks, Washington is now a very famous tourist destination on the northwestern coast of the U.S. The town of 3100 people was once very similar to a lot of smaller towns – until the Twilight phenomenon hit. How has all this attention affected the residents and the day-to-day living? Director Jason Brown made the documentary Twilight in Forks to show the vampire and werewolf fans just what this town was before and after.

“One of the things that you’ll see in the film is how vampires actually relate to Forks, and whether there’s some truth to the characters that you’re familiar with,” three-time Emmy winner Brown told MTV recently about the film, which was shot with high-definition cameras to capture the region’s unique, rain-soaked beauty. “You’ll see shots of the forest and some shots of signs about vampires. … You’ll meet a real-life Bella and a real-life Alice that are in Forks.”

Quite a change from the Salmon Run Derby Days and the old fashioned Fourth of July celebration. Now the Chamber of Commerce offers maps on it’s website and Twilight based events (such as Stephanie Meyer day!) Houses and landmarks that the novels feature are now highlighted on maps, restaurants serve the ‘Swan Sandwich’ and ‘Jacob Black Shake.’ Not that any of these things are bad or negative, just very different from the town before. The documentary will be attached to The Twilight Saga: New Moon when it is released on DVD in 2010.

Written by Violet on August 25, 2009 – 10:31 pm -

Nick Jonas looked positively presidential and professional on Monday afternoon as he spoke to The National Press Club at a conference on juvenile diabetes. The singer spends time educating and raising awareness of this disease which he suffers from as well.

Jonas also went to CNN and was interviewed for the evening news program The Situation Room.
