Believe it or not – Glee is planning yet another “tribute” episode – this time, honoring the late, great Whitney Houston.

The cast will perform eight songs from the songstress, who passed away early last month, with powerhouse vocalist Amber Riley leading the way.  Riley performed a moving rendition of Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”, just days after the singer’s death and insiders report that this episode is a continuation of the cast’s wishes to pay their respects to an amazing artist.

It’s using Whitney’s music as a way to say goodbye… A way to respectfully say thank you for her music.

Series star Lea Michele took to her Twitter this morning to update fans about filming,

Pop superstar Whitney Houston was found dead in her  Beverly Hilton Hotel room yesterday afternoon – she was 48.

The troubled star, who will forever be remembered for her golden voice, was scheduled to perform at Clive Davis’  pre-Grammy bash last night, but was found in her hotel room bathtub with her face underwater shortly before the party began.  Attempts to revive the singer proved unsuccessful and Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55PM.

Davis, who was a longtime mentor to Houston remembers his friend saying he was,

Personally devastated by the loss of somebody who meant so much to me. Whitney was so full of life. She was so looking forward to tonight…she loved music. She loved this night. Let’s celebrate music…. She graced this stage with her regal presence so many times… Simply put, Whitney would have wanted the music to go on and her family asked us to carry on.

Although sources report that, as of yet, there is no definitive cause of death, the autopsy has revealed no obvious signs of foul play.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Whitney’s friends and family during this difficult time.

After a four year absence, the cable music channel VH1 is trotting out it’s concert show, VH1 Divas. Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Adele have been announced as performers for this year’s event.

What do you think of these choices? I have to say, while I enjoy these artists, the Divas shows were legendary because they chose a diverse group of female musicians who’ve STOOD THE TEST OF TIME. None of these performers qualify. Three, four or even five years just isn’t the same as decades of hard work, being recognized by your peers continuously, and fighting the ups and downs of a fickle public and music business. I think it will be a fun concert, but nothing amazing. Too bad that they can’t come up with another way to get this group of gals together and not put them in the same category with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Cher, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Tina Turner etc…

Miley Cyrus is reportedly set to star with Hugh Jackman in the new movie ‘Personal Security.’  This is an updated version of the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner film ‘The Bodyguard.’  There will be no love story between the headliners as was in the original and Jackman will play a hard-boiled New York City detective forced to protect Cyrus’ bratty heiress after she receives kidnap threats. Jackman and Cyrus were spotted having dinner with movie executives in Los Angeles and it has been taken as a sign that the movie is a done deal, however imdb.com is still listing it as ‘in development’ with no cast or director attached.
