The end of 2009 is here today so let’s take a look back at the best TV shows aimed at and about teenagers. Some are more realistic than others and some are just downright guilty pleasures, but here are the Top 10 of 2009.

10. Gossip Girl - CW

Based on the books by Cecily von Ziegesar, the series about spoiled NYC teens on the Upper East Side was launched in 2007 and has been a favorite ever since. While ratings have slipped this year, it is still talked about. The cast (Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley) is super hot and garners lots of press. Hopefully the storylines will pick up and get it back on track.

9. Make It Or Break It - ABC Family

Chelsea Hobbs, Josie Loren, Ayla Kell and Cassie Scerbo are the gymnastic Olympic hopefuls at “The Rock” in Boulder Colorado, training for their shot at the big time. ABC Family’s hit show (scoring their second best premiere) gives athletic teen girls a chance to see and strive for something more than boys and clothes.

8. True Jackson, VP - Nickelodeon

Keke Palmer is terrific as the Vice President of a teen clothing line and her navigation in the world of business and all the normal drama that comes from being a teenager. Palmer is funny, charming and talented. Her costars Ashley Argota and Matt Shively play off her well and the premiere set lots of ratings records for the network.

Selena Gomez wowed in white at TV Guide Magazine’s Hot List party in Los Angeles at the SLS Hotel The Bazaar. The Wizards of Waverly Place actress and Selena & The Scene singer chose a Twenty Cluny dress and Swarovski accessories.

Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez will be featured in the Disney Parks 2009 Christmas Day Parade. The actress was filming the event on November 7th and this holiday themed picture of her with a ’santa-fied’ version of Stitch was released. Very cute.

The first Wizards of Waverly Place Disney Channel Original Movie premieres Friday night (August 28th) and since we can’t get enough of Selena Gomez, here is her first single with her band The Scene, from her upcoming CD Kiss & Tell, ‘Falling Down.’ The CD hits stores September 29th.

Selena Gomez & The Scene have just released the cover of their upcoming CD: Kiss & Tell. Gomez, who also stars in the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, will release her first single “Falling Down,” tomorrow (August 21st) on Radio Disney. Friday August 28th, the music video will premiere during the WoWP first ever DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie.) Great timing!

After Alex (Selena Gomez) has wished her parents never met, Justin (David Henrie) and Alex watch as their father, Jerry (David DeLuise) is flirting with other women. The WOWP movie airs on the Disney Channel Friday August 28th.

With the first ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ movie due out in a couple of weeks, Disney star Selena Gomez is everywhere promoting it. Seventeen Magazine has chosen her for their September 2009 issue and she has multiple covers as well. In her interview, she gives some insight to her feud with Miley Cyrus:

17: You were fighting with Miley Cyrus last year. How did you two work it out?

SG: For me personally, I try to take the high road. I try not to say anything and it kinda works itself out. It’s typical teenage-drama stuff. Eventually you sort of realize your friends are the only ones you really have - so why are we doing this?

Selena also goes on to say Taylor Lautner is “so sweet” and he “made her so happy.” She does however point out that is completely single and plans to stay that way.

A new Vlog here from Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez. The movie soundtrack is due out Tuesday August 4th and here Gomez and the WOWP gang are having fun with her song ‘Magic.’
